Leaving behind a trail of broken hearts in Brooklyn, the Dodgers headed west in 1958 to take up their new digs in Los Angeles. Ground had yet to be broken for construction on Dodger Stadium, thus the team started its West Coast history in the venerable Los Angeles Coliseum. This ticket stub dates from the Dodgers' first home game in LA, on Friday, April 18, 1958, a 6-5 victory over the also-recently-moved San Francisco Giants. White stub has clear blue and red print, a neat tear, some rounding at the corners, and a small stain near the perforation. Encapsulated by PSA as STUB GOOD 2, most of the deduction is due to a set of staple holes across the top, though it is not easily visible in the holder and the stub retains a terrific look. So eager were LA fans to see hometown baseball that they packed a record-setting 78,672 fans into the Coliseum to cheer the Dodgers to victory.
