Tremendous University of Notre Dame letterman's jacket attributed to use by Rudy Ruttiger, on whom the movie "Rudy" was based. Heavy navy blue wool jacket has black leather sleeves with buttons down the front and Holloway size 46 tag in collar. Extensive use is evident, particularly on the leather sleeves and the pocket trim has come loose at the end on both sides. Chenille-style yellow ND letterman logo is sewn on the left breast. As depicted in the movie, Rudy was a student with a learning disability who joined the Fighting Irish as a walk-on, not seeing action until coach Dan Devine suited him up for action in the final game of his senior year, in which he recorded a sack on the game's final play against Georgia Tech on November 8, 1975. He earned the amazing distinction of being the first player from the fabled institution to ever be carried off the field by his teammates after the game.
