After finishing in a dead heat for 4th at the '06 Kentucky Derby, he was entered into the Triple Crown's final leg at Belmont, where he claimed victory by 1 1/4 lengths. Moderate use exhibited to the halter includes wear to the leather straps, scratching to the nameplate, and wear to the buckles. Interesting and thorough provenance for this item starts with a certificate reading, "With Compliments - Nashwan Stud at Shadwell Farm" in Lexington, Kentucky, along with a signed handwritten note by Stallion Manager Kent Barnes stating that Jazil wore this halter in 2010. The final piece is an email chain in which Barnes responds to a fan by indicating not only that his signature was authentic, but that the absence of the Shadwell Farms mark on the halter plate is, in fact, correct, as there were a few such halters without the ID and he specifically remembered that Jazil had one.
