Presented is a ticket stub from Game 6 of the 1951 World Series, at Yankee Stadium, on October 10th, which was Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio's last game and the first World Series Championship won by Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle. It is also from the clinching game of the New York Yankees' 14th World Championship. The Yankees defeated the New York Giants in Game 6 by a 4-3 score, with Vic Raschi getting the win. DiMaggio, who hit .325 lifetime with 361 home runs, had batted only .263 in the '51 regular season. DiMaggio's heir apparent in center field, Mickey Mantle, was a rookie in '51 and played mostly right field. Mickey had been seriously injured earlier in the World Series when, in attempting to avoid DiMaggio on a fly ball hit between center and right, Mantle had his cleats become caught in a sprinkler drain. In this World Series final game, DiMaggio was 1-for-2, with a double and two intentional walks. For his career, DiMaggio hit .325, with 361 home runs. Joltin' Joe had his amazing 56-game consecutive hitting streak in 1941, and he was a 3-time AL MVP, a 2-time batting champ, and a 9-time World's Champion, all with the Yankees, his sole Major League team. The ticket stub measures approx. 2.25x4.4". It has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA certified PR 1.
