High Grade 1931 Philadelphia Athletics World Series press pin is very rare and in stunning condition. Shaped like the Liberty Bell, the pin is roughly 0.75" from top-to-bottom and the front is near-perfect with flawless enamel. The yoke of the bell reads "ATHLETICS" while the bell is colored in blue with the A's trademark white elephant logo and "Press" across the top. Back has slight discoloration with original threaded post and clasp. 1931 marked the Athletics' third straight American League pennant, though their quest to become the first team ever to win three consecutive World Series was thwarted in a 7-game loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. Also notable was Lefty Grove winning the pitching Triple Crown, leading the league with an astounding 31-4 record, 2.06 ERA, and 175 strikeouts; in addition, this would be their final World Series appearance while playing in Philadelphia.
