Vintage glass plate duplicate negative capturing Babe Ruth at bat during a game as a member of the New York Giants. This image was taken during a charity exhibition game between the New York Giants and the Baltimore Orioles of the International League, held at the Polo Grounds on October 3, 1922. The game was held to raise money for former Giants owner John B. Day and former Giants manager Jim Mutrie, both of whom were suffering financial hardships. Because of Ruth's star appeal, and his connection to the Baltimore Orioles, he was recruited to join the Giants lineup for a day. Ruth homered in the game, giving the fans their money's worth. The negative (5x4") remains in Excellent condition. Accompanied by a small positive photo of the image printed on paper.
