Presented is the opportunity to possess ten (10) Hall of Fame signed postcards, a collection that includes four great stars from the Negro Leagues. Each of the postcards is an official National Baseball Hall of Fame postcard measuring 3x5", with a photograph of each player's Hall of Fame plaque on the front. 1-2) Buck Leonard (2): The great first baseman on the Negro National League's Homestead Grays when the team won an amazing nine NNL pennants in a row. One of the postcards is signed in blue marker, and the other is signed in blue ballpoint pen; 3) Joe Morgan: The second baseman of the Cincinnati Reds' "Big Red Machine"; 4) Ray Dandridge: terrific fielding third baseman for four teams in the Negro Leagues who was never brought to the Major Leagues despite being the American Association's MVP in 1950; 5) Bobby Doerr: Red Sox second baseman who drove in more than 100 runs six years in a row and once held the American League record for consecutive chances by a second baseman without an error (414). 6) Ernie Banks: "Mr. Cub." Played in the Negro Leagues before starring as a slugging shortstop and first baseman for the Chicago Cubs; 7) Enos "Country" Slaughter: Played from 1938-59, mostly with the St. Louis Cardinals. A career .300 hitter; 8) Jim "Catfish" Hunter: Pitched for the Kansas City/Oakland Athletics and the New York Yankees. In the 1970s, he won over 20 games five straight seasons. In '68, pitched a perfect game; 9) Frank Robinson: First player to be an MVP in both the National League (1961) and the American League (1966). Hit 586 homers. 10) William "Judy" Johnson: Wonderful all-around third baseman for Hilldale and the Pittsburgh Crawfords in the Negro Leagues. With the exceptions of the aforementioned second Buck Leonard postcard and the Joe Morgan postcard signed in blue ink from a ballpoint pen, all of the postcards have been signed in marker, most of them using blue ink. The signatures average 7-8/10, and the postcards are in Excellent condition.
