Full fire suit race worn by women's drag racing pioneer Shirley "Cha Cha" Muldowney includes jacket, pants, and gloves. Heavy wear is exhibited throughout, zip front top is white with Muldowney's name embroidered in blue near the right shoulder, multi-colored stripes, and sponsor advertisements throughout; two wash tags are in the neck with a small "1-82" tag underneath. Pants are also white with no tagging or advertisements evident. Gloves are black with white leather palms and "Muldowney" written on each in black marker. Tag with laundering instructions and size S is in each glove. "The First Lady of Drag Racing" was quite literally that, being the first women ever licensed to drive a Top Fuel drag racer by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), proceeding to win the Top Fuel championship in 1977, 1980, and 1982, all part of her 18 overall NHRA championships.
