Vintage metal advertising sign issued in promotion of "Jacob Ruppert Beer-Ale." The colorful graphics picture a pair of hands hoisting two full glasses of bear, with the text along the base reading "In Bottles - In Cans." Jacob Ruppert, former owner of the New York Yankees, is better known today for his contributions to baseball, rather than the alcoholic beverage industry. Ruppert was responsible for bringing Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1920, which helped launch the Yankees baseball dynasty. This sign, which was meant to hang in bars and stores that served/carried Ruppert Beer, is an attractive display piece and is complete with its original string hanger. The oval sign (15.5x11.75") displays wear commensurate with its age and former use, including several light abrasions and scratches (mainly along the border areas) and is in Very Good condition overall.
