Displayed is a very rare full ticket to the Oct. 10th Game 4 of the 1946 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals at Boston's Fenway Park. The game was a slaughter, in both name and action, as St. Louis won 12-3. Enos Slaughter, the Cardinals' Hall of Fame outfielder, contributed to the 20-hit carnage with four hits, four runs and an RBI. Other Cardinals' Hall of Famers contributed to the onslaught: second baseman Red Schoendienst had a hit and a run; first baseman Stan Musial had two RBIs; shortstop Marty Marion had three hits. Red Munger took the win. For Boston, Hall of Famers Ted Williams, Dom DiMaggio, and Johnny Pesky played for the Red Sox. Williams had a hit and scored a run; DiMaggio scored a run; Pesky was hitless in five at bats. Tex Hughson had the loss. The Cardinals won the World Series in seven games. The ticket, costing $3.60 for standing room, measures 2.25x7.5", and it has been punch cancelled in two places. The scarce ticket has been encapsulated and PSA graded "AUTHENTIC." Only three of these 1946 World Series Game 4 tickets have been PSA graded and each was "AUTHENTIC."
