Washington Football Team road jersey issued to wide receiver Terry McLaurin during the 2020 season. This jersey has special significance because McLaurin later presented it to future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson. In a lengthy inscription on the reverse numeral "1" McLaurin tells Peterson how much his friendship has meant to him. In full: "AP. Appreciate all the words of wisdom & guidance over my first 2 years. You truly showed me what it's like to be a pro at the highest level. Thanks for everything. GOAT! Blessings." On the reverse numeral "7" McLaurin has signed the jersey. Both the inscription and signature have been rendered in black marker and grade 9/10 overall. McLaurin and Peterson were teammates on Washington during McLaurin's 2019 rookie season and all through training camp in 2020 (Peterson was released by Washington one week prior to the start of the 2020 season). This jersey originates directly from Peterson's personal collection. The white jersey features the team name "Washington" embroidered in burgundy on the front. The number "17" is featured on the front, reverse, and each sleeve. "McLaurin" is lettered upon a white name plate on the reverse. All numerals are applied in burgundy on gold tackle twill, while all letters are applied in burgundy tackle twill. Located in the collar is a "Nike 40" label, a "2019" year tag, and a flag tag reading "+2 Length." Despite the year tag, this jersey was worn by McLaurin the following season because it features both a circular black memorial patch (#49) on the left breast (in honor of former Washington star Bobby Mitchell, who was the first African American player in franchise history; worn by the team only in 2020) and a "Captain" patch on the right breast (McLaurin replaced Landon Collins as team captain in October 2020 after Collins was placed on injured reserve). The jersey is original as issued. Because we cannot photo-match the jersey, we cannot conclusively determine whether or not it was game worn. Full LOA from PSA.
