Eleven Hall of Famers on a ball dating from Gehrig's last World Series appearance. This unique signed baseball was obtained at the 1938 World Series and features the signatures of fifteen members of the 1938 World Champion New York Yankees, eight members of their World Series opponents, the Chicago Cubs, as well as those of former heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey, Hall of Fame shortstop Joe Cronin, and Postmaster General James Farley. Each of the signatures has been scripted in black ink upon an official American League (Harridge) ball, grading 6/10 on average. The notation "Yankees 1938" is written in black fountain pen below McCarthy's name on the sweet spot.
