Amazing find in this 1966 Cincinnati Reds jersey, one of the very few Joe Nuxhall game worn jerseys known to exist. The only part of the jersey that was restored is the name on the back, which was taken off and expertly put back on with nearly identical materials and in its original position; the number 41 on the front and back are 100% original and the Reds logo on the front is all original. MacGregor size 48 tag is in the collar, Set 2 1966 tag is inside front tail along with washing instructions tag which is partially detached. Vest-style top is button-front with Reds "C" logo patch (featuring a blue background) on left breast and number 41 in red-on-blue. Arm holes are bordered in black, number is on back but, in a very unusual style, the name rests below the number, sewn in individual letters. Shows fine use and has no holes or tears, there is a small area of pink discoloration near the left hip. This is from the last of Nuxhall's 16 MLB seasons, virtually all in Cincinnati. Of course, though Nuxhall did not post Hall of Fame numbers in his pitching career, he will quite possibly live forever in the record books as the youngest player ever to appear in a game, at just a couple of months shy of his 16th birthday due to the player shortage during World War II.
