Rare vintage 1934 Cincinnati Reds jersey game worn by infielder Sparky Adams. Reds jerseys from this era are very seldom seen and this is a beauty, all original but for a trimmed front and back tail - likely done by the team or Adams himself as was common for the era before custom tailoring. Jersey has Spalding tag in collar with "Adams" stitched beside it and is missing the second from top button; all other buttons are original. Reds logo on left breast consists of a red-on-blue felt "C" with "REDS" in same style individual letters sewn within. Number 4 is on the back in the same red-on-blue and the felt is slightly faded, not affecting the attractiveness of the garment. Standing at a diminutive 5'5", Adams was the prototypical infielder, providing sharp fielding, speed on the bases, and a solid batting average. This heavy top was worn during the last of his 13 MLB seasons, and until his passing in 1989 at age 94, he was the last living member of the 1931 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals, Adams' lone WS title.
