1936 Berlin Olympics ticket stub for the August 2nd 100 meters qualifying rounds, which marked Jesse Owens' Olympic debut. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Owens officially announced his presence at the 1936 games during the preliminary heats. During the first preliminary at 10:30 am he equaled the Olympic and world records, and in the second, at 3:00 pm, he broke them (he was not credited with a new Olympic or world record because his times were wind aided). Owens, who was African American, won four gold medals at the games, which was politically symbolic, for it refuted, on the world's biggest stage, Hitler's claim of Aryan supremacy.
