This Victorian walking stick with gold plate top was presented to Captain S.H. Lyons of the 1882-83 Ottawa Football Club, as indicated by the inscription. The stick is of exceptional quality and measures 37". The professional Canadian team was founded in 1876 and re-branded itself the Rough Riders in 1898, playing in the Canadian Football League until folding in 1996.
