Hall of Famer Derek Jeter played his final MLB season in 2014, and displayed is a rare Derek Jeter check originally issued from the Topps Company that was made out to Jeter in the amount of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) and signed over as a tip to a "clubby," a clubhouse man. Jeter hit .310 lifetime, and was a 5-time World Series winner, a 5-time Silver Slugger, and a 5-time Gold Glove recipient during his career, all with the New York Yankees. The 14-time All-Star was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2021. The check, drawn on the Morgan Chase Bank in NYC, NY, measures approx. 3.5x8.5", and it has "Topps" printed at the top. It is dated January 24, 2014, and is made out to "Derek Sanderson Jeter - c/o IMG Center - Suite 100 - 1360 E. 9th Street - Cleveland OH 44114." Jeter signed the check on the back, using ink from a ballpoint pen. The check, in excellent condition, has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA certified AUTHENTIC AUTO." The type of signed Topps Jeter check is rare; the only other one we know of sold years ago from the same client.
