Collection of nine rare New York Giants supplements issued by The Evening Sun in 1914. The highlight of the group is Christy Mathewson, who, along with Jim Thorpe, is one of the two keys to the set. In addition to Mathewson, the collection features Rube Marquard, Fred Merkle, Larry Doyle, Buck Herzog, Chief Meyers, Al Demaree, Art Fletcher, and Jeff Tesreau. Each supplement features a portrait of the respective player drawn by artist Lawrence Semon. The printing along the base of each reads "From The Evening Sun's Gallery Of Famous Baseball Players." Each supplement (9.25x12.25") displays heavy creasing, moderate-to-heavy tears and pinholes in the corners. In Poor to Fair condition overall.
