It’s the stories and history that we cherish. And there is plenty of both in this baseball. Obtained from a grounds worker at the Los Angeles Dodgers Vero Beach Stadium during the 1960’s, this ball was inscribed “To Glenn Best Wishes” by both Sandy Koufax and catcher, Jeff Torberg (each on their own panel) directly following Koufax’s no-hitter vs. the Chicago Cubs on September 9, 1965. This turned out to be the HOFer’s last no-hitter ever pitched. Ball has been inscribed with “9-9-1965 Caught ‘No-Hit’ Game vs. Chicago Cubs ‘Sandy’ Koufax Pitching”. Some guys have all the luck. Torberg’s signature is somewhat faded, Koufax is nice and dark (an 8/10). ONL (Giles) baseball shows some use, but preserved very well. LOA from nephew of Glenn Hudson, who he passed the ball along to just before his death. The ball is just now seeing the light of day.
