"This was the greatest football team ever put together," said Pittsburgh Steelers team chairman Dan Rooney of the 1970s Steelers, who accomplished something never done, before or after - an astounding four Super Bowl Championships within six years. Displayed is an eye-catching 22x38" signed print that showcases the Steelers' 1970s dynasty, with myriad images of Steeler players and 40+ signatures, mostly of Hall of Famers and stars, that correspond to the player images. The print is hand-numbered 378/1000, and an image of the late owner of the Steelers, Dan Rooney, appears at the top and an image of the Steelers' home field, Three Rivers Stadium, is near the bottom of the print. With an amazing assemblage of Hall of Famers who played on each of the four 1970s Super Bowl Champions, the Steelers of that era established what many experts believe is the greatest dynasty in NFL history. The print is like a Who's Who of Steelers' football in the 1970s.The following nine Pro Football Hall of Famers played on each of the 1970s Pittsburgh Super Bowl winners - in 1974, '75, '78, and '79, and both the image and signature of each appear on this fascinating print: Joe Greene, DT; Franco Harris, RB; Terry Bradshaw, QB; Lynn Swann, WR; Mel Blount, CB; Mike Webster, C; John Stallworth, WR; Jack Ham, LB; Jack Lambert, LB. In addition, Chuck Noll, Hall of Fame head coach of all of the 1970s Super Bowl winners, is depicted and has signed the print. Other notable images with corresponding signatures include Andy Russell, LB, who played on the '74 and '75 Super Bowl winners, Roy Gerela, K, who played on the '74, '75 and '78 Super Bowl Champions, and Frenchy Fuqua, RB, who was on the '74 and '75 Super Bowl winners. The print is matted and framed to 37.5x53". This print was created in 1999 and 1,000 prints were made, but not all were signed. The signatures, in black Sharpie, are mostly 8/10. The 2024 season will mark the Golden Anniversary of the season that started the great 1970s Steelers dynasty and interest in the 1970s teams should be soar as various Golden Anniversary Super Bowl winning teams are celebrated in the decade of the 2020s.
