Presented is one of the finest known 1955 New York Yankees team signed baseballs. Sporting 34 signatures on a Reach Official American League Ball (Harridge), PSA has graded this ball NM-MT 8 overall with 8/10 autograph grade and 7/10 baseball grade, plus .5 bump for eye appeal. The '55 Yankees went 96-58 to win the AL pennant, and they lost the World Series 4-3 in games to the Brooklyn Dodgers, the first and only World Series Championship for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Hall of Famer Casey Stengel managed the Bronx Bombers. Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle bashed 37 home runs, drove in 99 runs and hit .306, and Yankee Hall of Famer Yogi Berra hit 27 homers and drove in 108 runs. Elston Howard, a catcher/outfielder, was the Yankees' first African American player, hitting .290. On the mound, Hall of Famer Whitey Ford went 18-7, Bob Turley was 17-13, and Tommy Bryne was 16-5. The ball has 34 signatures, signed in blue ink with a ballpoint pen: Rizzuto (HOF), on the sweet spot, Mantle (HOF), Berra (HOF), Dickey, as a coach (HOF), Ford (HOF), Bauer, Byrne, Kucks, Morgan, Sturdivant, Carey, Larsen, Eddie Robinson, Grim, Konstanty, Richardson, Howard, Skowron, Martin, Coleman, Cerv, Silvera, and others. Casey Stengel's signature is clubhouse. The signatures uniformly rate a strong 8 of 10. The ball displays a bit of light toning, with bold and well-defined stampings. A handwritten team/year identifier is written on. Comes with a PSA LOA.
