Presented is a circa 1932 Detroit Tigers baseball cap. The Tigers played at Navin Field, and they were skippered by Hall of Fame manager Bucky Harris. In the '32 season, the Tigers finished in fifth place in the American League with a 76-75 record. Hall of Fame second baseman Charlie Gehringer led Tigers hitters with a .298 batting average, 19 home runs and 109 RBIs, and Earl Whitehill led the pitchers with a 16-12 record. This offered hat was sold at Navin Field, and it was not the professional quality cap that the players wore. The cap is white, with a blue bill. It has a blue button (showing some loss of enamel) on top and six blues cloth lines running from the button to the edges. The hat has no size listed, but it seems to be an adult sized cap. The hat shows wear, with sweat stains inside in front, on top, and on the sweatband. There is some loss of the blue cloth on the edge of the bill and a few other spots. There are a few small stains on the exterior of the cap, and a few loose threads on the cap piping. A nice feature of this approximately 90-year-old cap is the popular, iconic classic Old English "D" on front.
