Rare Jackie Robinson pennant dating from the time of his historic Major League debut in 1947. Of the several different Jackie Robinson pennants issued during his career, this appears to be the earliest. That assumption is based upon the illustration of Robinson featured here, which pictures him as a first baseman. Robinson was the club's starting first baseman in 1947, but transitioned to second base the following year. Therefore, this pennant was almost certainly issued in either 1947 or 1948, or perhaps both years. In addition to the illustration of Robinson the red-felt pennant features Robinson's scripted name and the team name "Dodgers." The pennant (23" in length), which is complete with its original tassels, displays light fading and crazing to the painted graphics. In Excellent condition overall.
