Bobby Orr is a Hall of Fame defenseman who lit up the NHL as a great goal scoring and playmaker, revolutionizing the game of hockey. Displayed is a store display of a way a hockey fan can light up as well, six Storm King lighters, each featuring an image of a hockey player, who looks like Orr, on the front of the lighter. Orr played 12 years in the NHL, the first ten seasons (1966-67 through 1975-76) with the Boston Bruins and his final two years with the Chicago Blackhawks. Never before Bobby Orr had professional hockey had a defenseman who was such a part of the offense. Orr ran the Boston Bruins attack and often joined the offense in close to the opponent's net as a Bruin forward would drop back to cover for Orr on the backline. Orr won eight consecutive Norris Awards as the NHL's best defenseman. Orr is the only defenseman to have led the NHL in scoring, and he did it by winning the Ross Trophy twice: In 1965-70 (120 points) and in 1974-75 (135 points). Orr was a 3-time Hart Trophy winner as the NHL's MVP. He also won the Calder Trophy as the NHL Rookie of the Year in 1966-67 and was a 2-time winner of the Smythe Trophy as the NHL Play-Off MVP as he led the Bruins to two Stanley Cup victories. The intact lighter display measures approx. 6.75x14". Each of the unused six lighters measures approx. 1.5x2.25x0.38". The front of the display reads, "Made in U.S.A./STORM KING/GUARANTEED FOR LIFE!/LIGHTWEIGHT Windproof Lighter Only." There is a sticker under the above "ONLY," and on the sticker is "Incomparable at ONLY $1[.]50". On the front of each lighter is printed " 'GO BRUINS - GO...'" The thin cardboard display can be made into an easel display by pulling out the cardboard support in the back. The lighters are in excellent condition. The top lighter seems to have some tape or a small bit of glue on it. There are some light creases in the cardboard display, some small paper loss at the corners, and a small, very light stain on the left front. Overall, the display is in very good condition.
