Tremendous history in this signed baseball by the 1920 World Series umpire crew. Official National League (Heydler) has four signatures, all on the panel to the left of the main stamp, and included are Hank O'Day (HOF), Tom Connolly (HOF), Bill Klem (HOF), and Bill Dineen. Ball dates from roughly 1917-18 and displays some discoloration but the stamps present clearly, in VG-EX condition. Signatures in black fountain ink average 6/10 and display beautifully on the side panel. The aforementioned umpires have quite the legacy; Hank O'Day is the most recent umpire to be inducted to the HOF (Class of 2013), having played from 1884-1890 and umpired from 1895-1927. O'Day umpired in 10 World Series, second only to Bill Klem's 18, including five of the first seven played, and was home plate umpire for the first modern World Series game in 1903. He passed in 1935, making it extremely difficult to find a signature of his. Klem and Connolly were both inducted into the Hall by the Veterans Committee in 1953. Comes with PSA LOA.
