Boston Red Sox road jersey worn by Hall of Fame third baseman Wade Boggs in 1990. Graded A10 by MEARS. The gray knit jersey is lettered "Boston" across the front and features the number "26" on the reverse. "Boggs" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All letters and numerals are applied in red on navy tackle twill. Located on the left front tail are a "Rawlings 44" label and an adjacent flag tag reading "Set 2 1990." A black arm band, in memory of Tony Conigliaro, who died prior to the start of the season, appears on the left sleeve. The jersey is original as issued and displays moderate wear. Boggs batted .302 with 6 home runs and 63 RBI in 1990 to help lead the Red Sox to the American League East division title. One of the greatest hitters of the modern era and a member of baseball's elite 3,000 Hit Club, Boggs lead the American League in batting five times, including a career-high .368 average in 1985. He retired after the 1999 season with 3,010 hits, 118 home runs, 1,014 RBI, and .328 lifetime average. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2005, his first year of eligibility. Full LOA from MEARS (Graded A10).
