Game used 1998 New York Mets jersey worn by first baseman John Olerud. Black alternate style top has Russell Athletic size 48 and 100% Polyester tagging on tail, script Mets logo is across the chest of the button-front top above the number 5, all in stylized blue-on-white and-orange 3-D lettering. Name in individual letters stitched on back above number in same style, with Mets baseball logo patch on left sleeve. Much like the solid-hitting, flashy fielding Olerud, the black alternate jerseys became very popular among Mets fans and the team wore two different brands of this jersey in 1998 - Russell and AIS. It appears as though this style, from Russell, was used in the earlier portion of the season. Nice use exhibited particularly on back with loose threads and slightly lighter wear on front. Olerud led the way for the 1998 Metropolitans with a team-high .354 batting average.
