1939-46 Salutation Exhibits Lou Gehrig. Graded VG 3 by PSA. Gehrig's 1939-1946 Salutation Exhibits has always been highly prized by collectors because it was his final card as an an active player. Although the 1939-1946 Salutation Exhibits set was issued over a period of eight years, the number of cards produced for each player was not uniform. Some player cards were produced every year, while others only a few. In Gehrig's case, 1939 was his final season in the Majors, thus his card represents one of the scarcer cards in the set. The offered card displays a few slight vertical creases along the top border and is otherwise an extremely attractive example dating from Gehrig's final season in pinstripes.
