1952 Topps Baseball #311 Mickey Mantle "Rookie" card. The card has been graded and encapsulated by SGC GD 2. The most iconic card in the entire hobby, this card is known as "The" Mantle rookie card even though the 1951 Bowman issue holds that distinction. This example has a colorful and bright image of a very young Mantle gazing over his shoulder while gripping his ever ready bat. The borders have a creamy and rich quality to them while the edges remain fairly smooth. All four corners show slight rounding. Centering is slightly off both top to bottom and left to right. There are a few creases/wrinkles most noticeably running from the left border in an arc through Mantle's cap and exiting through the top border above the Yankee symbol on his cap. The red back reverse is fairly clean with a very small smudge to the right of fielding records. The reverse centering is off left to right. Overall, a clean and visually appealing example of Mantle's first Topps card.
