Official American League (Harridge) ball signed in blue fountain pen by the following twenty-three members of the 1936 World Champion New York Yankees: Gehrig (sweet spot), McCarthy (Mgr., sweet spot), DiMaggio, Gomez, Dickey, Lazzeri, Combs (coach), Ruffing, Hadley, Jorgens, Johnson, Rolfe, Pearson, Saltzgaver, Murphy, Wicker, Heffner, Fletcher (coach), Brown, Crosetti, Painter (team trainer), Broaca, and Selkirk. The notation "1936 World Champions" appears in blue fountain pen on a side panel. The signatures are fairly uniform in grade, averaging 7/10. The ball is lightly toned and remains in Excellent to Mint condition. This ball, which is new to the hobby, is one of finest 1936 New York Yankees team-signed baseballs we have ever seen. It is further distinguished by the fact that it features no clubhouse signatures, including that of manager Joe McCarthy, which is almost always a club-house version on Yankees team-signed balls from this era. 1936 was a historic year in Yankees franchise history. Not only did it mark the rookie season of Joe DiMaggio, but also the first of the team's then-record four consecutive World Championships. An exceptional 1936 New York Yankees team-signed ball in all respects, featuring seven Hall of Famers, and one that would be among the highlights of any advanced New York Yankees team-signed ball collection.
