Great history in this typewritten 1914 letter signed by A.G. Spalding, whose name still resonates today as one of the foremost innovators from the earliest days of sporting equipment. On standard 8.5x11" AG Spalding stationery, the letter is dated November 2d (sic), 1914. Two sets of mailing folds are apparent, slight foxing at edges from age, signed in black ink and encapsulated by PSA as Authentic Auto. During his playing careers in the Majors from 1871-78, he became something of a trailblazer by wearing a fielding glove, and later turned to production of items for recreational use, and the Spalding brand remains highly respected to this day.
