Legend (or perhaps myth?) combine in this lot featuring perhaps the most coveted sneaker line of all time, the banned Air Jordan 1's. Unused sneakers have stamping inside ankle collar indicating that these are size 10 and were manufactured in the span of January-to-March of '86. It's hard to imagine that there was a time the NBA had such a strict uniform code that sneakers of this kind were "banned," resulting in fines to the likes of Jordan for wearing the style. Though it remains difficult to confirm that MJ was fined for wearing them during games, Jordan did, in fact, wear the style during the 1985 Slam Dunk contest and a feeding frenzy for the colorful footwear was born. Some light discoloration of the white portions of the sole from age, but these remain in NM-MT condition and have become a prized collectible as the years have progressed and even spawned a retro remake, but manufacturer's marks show that these are from the original phenomenon. Comes in original box with tagging.
