Original film negative of Babe Ruth standing at the plate in Yankee Stadium, circa 1924. Given Ruth's relaxed stance, with the bat on his shoulder, and the fact that both the catcher and umpire are standing up, its obvious that all three are waiting on the pitcher to take his position on the rubber. Original negatives of Ruth at bat during a game are scarce, making this an especially desirable photographic image of the legendary "Sultan of Swat" during his prime. The negative (7x5") displays two tiny corner chips (not affecting the photographic image) and a small area of adhesive residue in the upper left corner.
