The top portion of the laminated artwork is dedicated to Don Larsen and his feat of throwing a perfect game in the 1956 World Series, while the bottom portion features Bobby Thomson and his "Shot Heard Round the World" in the 1951 World Series. The engraved plate mounted at the base of the plaque reads "Eighth Annual Award Dinner/Boston Sports Lodge, B'nai B'rith/To/Don Larsen/Sports History Maker of the Century/Sheraton Plaza Hotel/Jan. 23, 1961."
