Alan Wiggins was a speedster who at his peak stole 70 bases for the 1984 San Diego Padres. Wiggins played from 1981-1987 as his career was cut short by documented substance abuse problems that resulted in several suspensions from baseball. In the minor leagues in 1980, Wiggins set an all-time professional baseball record with 120 stolen bases. Sadly, Wiggins only played in 161 games in the major leagues, yet he stole 242 bases, for an amazing rate of 62 stolen bases over a 162-game schedule. We believe the nameplate on the white jersey is original, but there are stitch holes near the edge, so it's possible the resewed it. The size of the nameplate is exactly the same other than a few stitch holes right next to the edges. Everything else is original. There is a tricolor #2 on the back. Padres is written across the chest in tricolor letters.  A "2 83" tag is on the left front outside tail. A Wilson size 40 tag, which contains washing instructions and is somewhat damaged, is in the neck. The jersey shows nice use.
