Rare large-format Yankee Stadium seating chart that was once displayed in the original Yankee Stadium. The chart, which was removed from Yankee Stadium during the 1973 renovation, is the only such example we have ever seen. Presumably, it hung outside the ticket office. At the time, Yankee Stadium was home to both the New York Yankees and the New York Giants of the NFL. As such the chart includes diagrams for both the baseball field and football field, so fans could visualize the view for the seats they chose. The diagram also includes the location of the dugouts, on-field cameraman boxes, and the area of netting behind home plate. The chart (23x36") is affixed to a heavy cardboard backing that is slightly bowed. A plastic laminate has been applied to the front for protection (original to the chart). The piece displays moderate staining on the reverse that is not visible from the front. Several nails holes affect the top portion, as do a few scratches. Several of the paper applications (representing the on-field cameraman boxes on the third base side) are no longer present. In Very Good condition overall. This is a seldom-seen display piece from the original Yankee Stadium that is perfect for display in either home or office.
