Presented is a first base used on September 27, 2013, during the third to last game of Mariano Rivera's career. The game was at Houston's Minute Maid Park, and the New York Yankees defeated the Astros 3-2, and Mariano did not appear in this game. Rivera liked to finish what others started. The Hall of Fame reliever finished more games, 952, than any other hurler in MLB history. He also had the most MLB saves ever, 652. "Mo" relied mainly on a cut fastball, which he used 82% of the time in his pitches from 2008-2013. He played all of his 19 seasons for the New York Yankees, he and helped the Bronx Bombers to five World Series titles. The 13-time All-Star was the first player ever elected by the Baseball Writers Association of America as a unanimous selection to the Hall of Fame. He did not appear in the game. The base was used during innings 3-5. The base is signed on the left side. The base shows great use, with dirt, and scuff marks very evident. The base comes with a Steiner Certificate of Authenticity and a MLB hologram.
