Wood base with a plaque that reads "1973" and "P Jim Kaat - 12th Award The Sporting News American League All-Star Fielding Team." On top of base is a gold-painted Rawlings glove with gold-painted balls held up by a gold appearing tripod on both sides. The small rise that the glove sits on also has a plaque that features an image of Kaat wearing his all familiar Chicago White Sox hat. Considering Kaat has been recently inducted in the the Hall of Fame, this once already significant award may be slightly more attractive currently.
