The 1972 Miami Dolphins were perfect - the only team in NFL history to be perfect. Offered is both a team-signed hand-painted helmet and a team-signed football. These '72 Dolphins raced through the regular season undefeated and continued undefeated in the playoffs, eventually winning Super Bowl VII as they defeated the Washington Redskins 14-7. Both the helmet and the ball were signed at reunions of the undefeated team. The hand-painted Dolphins helmet has a painted "Miami Dolphins 17-0 1972 in large white letters and numerals on the left side of the helmet. There are 33+ signatures on the helmet. Signing were: Larry Csonka, Earl Morrall, Howard Twilley, Dick Anderson, Paul Warfield, Garo Yepremian, and many others. There are 30+ signatures on the football. Signing were: Head Coach Don Shula, Larry, Csonka, Marv Fleming, Larry Seiple, Bill Stanfill, Larry Little, Howard Twilley, Vern Den Herder, Garo Yepremian, Otto Stowe, and many others. Both the helmet and the football are close to NR-MT. There are a few smudges to a few signatures on both the helmet and the ball, and a few signatures on the football have bled a little. The helmet is number 9 of 17 that were made and signed, and "9/17" is hand-painted on the helmet. Whenever a team in the NFL is edging towards an undefeated season, the 1972 Dolphins gather to watch their new rival for perfection. And so far, they have stayed undefeated at staying undefeated. There is only one NFL "Perfect Team." Possessing this signed helmet and football is a perfect way to commemorate a perfect team.
