In 1934 Hillerich & Bradsby began the practice of issuing specially produced "black bats" to World Series participants in commemoration of their post-season achievements. Each bat featured the stamped names of the principal team members, as well as the team name and year. These decorative bats are scarce today because they were not available for retail purchase and were distributed only to team members and front office personnel. Offered here is a collection of four Cincinnati Reds black bats dating from the following years: 1961 (Pennant), 1972 (Pennant), 1975 (World Championship), and 1990 (World Championship). Each bat measures 35 inches in length and all are in EX-MT to NRMT condition. An attractive grouping commemorating four of the most successful seasons in Red franchise history.
