Joe Morgan was only 5'7", but the Hall of Famer could do everything on a ball field to make his team win. The second baseman won five Gold Gloves, hit 268 home runs, and stole 689 bases. In speaking of his election to the Baseball Hall of Fame, Morgan said, "I take my vote as a salute to the little guys...." Morgan added that he didn't try to merely compile great statistics for himself. "If I stole a base, it was to help us win a game...." Morgan played for five teams over a 22-year career, mostly for the Houston Astros (10 years) and the Cincinnati Reds (8 years). Morgan won two MVPs, and he was a key member of the Cincinnati Reds' "Big Red Machine" of the 1970s, a team that won six division titles, four pennants, and two World Series. In addition to Morgan, that team had Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, George Foster, Dave Concepcion, and Tony Perez.  The Big Red Machine won four pennants and two World Championships. The front of the jersey shows "Cincinnati" in red letters at the chest. Below the team name, Morgan has signed the jersey and inscribed "8". O the left chest is number "8* in red letters. The back shows "Morgan" in red letters and under that "8", also in red. A Wilson manufacturer's tag inside the tail shows size "40". The jersey shows heavy use. Included with the jersey is a Letter of Opinion from Mears Authentication that grades the jersey as A10.
