Original Type I photograph capturing thirteen crew members of the S. S. Carpathia, the ship that rescued the survivors of the RMS Titanic. As noted by the vintage handwritten caption on the reverse, these thirteen crew members formed a football (soccer) team and played in a charity match to help raise money for the Titanic Fund. Eleven of the members are dressed in their football uniforms as the pose together on board their ship, with a Carpathia life preserver displayed in the center. Two Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with a handwritten caption. The crystal-clear photo (8x6.5") displays a tiny tear along the left border that has been repaired with clear tape on the reverse, as well as a tiny chip in the upper left corner, otherwise it is in Excellent condition. Culled from the Legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
