Rare baseball sheet music, titled "Our Champions March," composed by J. Franklin. Published by Goetz & Co., New York, in 1888. The cover features an illustration of a generic batter and catcher, while the text makes note that the piece is "Respectfully Dedicated To The Members Of The N. Y. Base Ball Club." The New York Giants were champions of the National League in 1888 and defeated the American Association champion St. Louis Browns in the World Series that fall. The sheet music (10.75x14"), has a horizontal fold and is detached at the spine, with all the pages now loose. Several edge tears on the front cover have been repaired with clear tape on the reverse. Also displayed on the front cover are a small circular adhesive mark and the name of a former owner written in pencil. The remaining pages also display several edge tears. In Fair condition overall, but it presents at a higher level than suggested by its technically accurate grade.
