Pittsburgh Steelers road jersey issued to future Hall of Fame quarterback Ben Roethlisberger during his 2004 rookie season. The white mesh nylon jersey features the number "7" on the front, reverse, and each shoulder. "Roethlisberger" is lettered upon a white nameplate on the reverse, directly above the number. All numerals are applied in black tackle twill, while all letters are applied in gold on black tackle twil. A white strip tag in the collar displays the year and size ("04-48") in black numerals. Located on the left front tail is a "Reebok" label and adjacent "48" size tag. Roethlisberger has beautifully inscribed the jersey "Ben Roethlisberger 7" in silver paint pen (grading 10/10") on the reverse number. The jersey was signed under the auspices of PSA and obtained through an NFL Auction. As such, it is accompanied by an NFL/PSA label (affixed in the collar) and corresponding PSA COA. The jersey is original as issued, and shows no use. To say that Roethlisberger's 2004 rookie season exceeded all expectations would be an understatement. Not only did he complete 66.4 percent of his passes, with 17 touchdowns, he also led the Steelers to an incredible 15-1 record and a trip to the AFC Championship game. His accomplishments earned him the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award at season's end, making him the first quarterback in thirty-four years to be so honored. He was also named to the NFL All-Rookie Team. During his eighteen-year career, Roethlisberger later led the Steelers to twelve post-season appearances and two NFL Championships. This is a desirable Roethlisberger signed team-issued jersey dating from his historic rookie season, and one that will almost assuredly appreciate in value following his inevitable election to the Football Hall of Fame in a few short years. COA from PSA.
