1888 die-cut trade card, issued by Goodwin & Co. in promotion its Old Judge Cigarettes, featuring advertising on the reverse for N173 Old Judge baseball cabinet cards. The front is folded and when the cover is lifted it reveals a colorful illustration of a young boy being punished for not buying his father Old Judge Cigarettes. The text on the reverse reminds patrons that a cabinet photograph of a prominent baseball player can be obtained by sending in twenty-five redemption slips (or twenty-five box covers) found in packages of Old Judge or Gypsy Queen Cigarettes. The trade card (4.5x7.25", unfolded) displays normal creasing at the attachment flap and is otherwise in Excellent to Mint condition. An outstanding example of this popular and attractive Old Judge advertising card.
