Offered is an eye-catching silk, made by Wright and Ditson, that contains a black and white team panorama with images: Tris Speaker, the HOF star who batted .383 for the season with his usual stellar defense in center field; Hall of Famer Smokey Joe Wood, who as a pitcher in 1912 went 35-4 with a 1.91 ERA; Jake Stahl, the team's manager and first baseman who batted .301 that season; catcher Bill Carrigan and third baseman Heinie Wagner. The Red Sox won their second World Series in 1912 as they defeated the New York Giants. The pennant reads, "Red Sox Champion 1912." There is some loss of silk in several areas of the border. Foxing occurs on the left and right-side borders and on the bottom. There is a crease/fold across the middle, mostly on the left side with some small loss of silk - the banner must have been folded across the middle. mostly on the left side. The images are good, and the images and the field shot give the silk a postcard like feel. Despite the minor defects, and some fading on the silk and its images, the silk is in good condition, especially considering its 110-year-old age. It has excellent eye appeal as a great vintage piece from the Red Sox glory days from over a century ago.
