Offered is a valued remembrance to one of the most memorable games in World Series history, the iconic Game 6 of the 1986 World Series when the New York Mets came from two runs down to the Boston Red Sox, with two outs and no one on base, in the bottom of the 10th inning to win the game and avoid Series elimination. Calvin Schiraldi was pitching for the Red Sox, and he retired the first two batters in the 10th. Then, Mets' Hall of Famer Gary Carter singled, and pinch hitter Kevin Mitchell advanced Carter to second. With the Mets one strike away from losing the Series, Ray Knight singled, scoring Carter and sending Mitchell to third. Boston manager John McNamara brought in Bob Stanley to pitch to Mookie Wilson. A wild pitch scored Mitchell with the tying run and advanced Knight to second. With a 2-2 count, Wilson hit a ground ball towards the first base foul line. The ball went through the legs of the Red Sox first baseman, Bill Buckner, for an error and Knight scored the winning run in a 6-5 victory. The Mets wrapped up the Series with a 8-5 win in Game 7, but Game 6 is the most remembered game in the 1986 Series, and one of the most famous finishes in World Series history. The ticket has a light crease above the MLB logo going across the entire ticket stub. Overall, the ticket is in Good condition.
