In 1992 Leaf issued a special 14-card set titled the Heritage Series. What made the set unique was that each player featured in it was pictured wearing a replica uniform from his respective team's past while holding actual vintage equipment from the corresponding era. Offered here is the Boston Red Sox uniform (jersey and hat) worn by Wade Boggs while posing for the photo used to produce his 1992 Leaf Heritage Series card #BC 3. (The bat Boggs was holding in the photo shoot was an authentic Babe Ruth game bat and it is NOT included in this collection.) The replica 1919 Boston Red Sox road jersey was produced by Mitchell & Ness, while the matching cap was crafted by the Cooperstown Ballcap Co. (The jersey can be easily photo matched to the card image.) Boggs has signed the jersey in blue-Sharpie (7/10) on the front, just above the "O" in "Sox." Both the jersey (size L) and cap (no size label present; possibly removed) remain in Near Mint condition. Accompanied by Boggs' 1992 Leaf Heritage Series card. It should be noted that this is one of four uniforms worn by players featured in either the 1992 Leaf Heritage Series set or 1994 Donruss Studio Heritage set offered in this auction.
