Presented is the rookie card of Henry Aaron, the Hall of Fame player many fans regard as the "People's All-Time Home Run Champ." In 1974, 20 years after this card was issued, Aaron hit homer number 715 to pass Babe Ruth as the all-time homer leader. Numerous fans disregard the homer totals of the "Steroid Years" and think of Aaron as the deserving all-time leader. What a beautiful card! The card features a colorized torso and head photo of Aaron and a smaller black & white photo of Hank fielding. The smaller action shot was a Topps '54 innovation. The Milwaukee Braves logo is displayed on the top left, and the card has a bright orange background. Careful scrutiny of the action shot will reveal Aaron fielding as an infielder - he was a second baseman in the minors in 1953. But projected Braves' left-fielder Bobby Thomson broke his ankle in spring training in '54, Aaron was moved to the outfield to replace Thomson, and the rest was the start of a great history.

Hank Aaron passed away in January 2021. His remarkable career included not only his surpassing Ruth, but a .305 lifetime average, 21 All-Star appearances and three Golden Gloves as a superior right fielder. He was a NL MVP and a World Series champ, and he still holds MLB records for RBI (2,297) and total bases (6,856). What an opportunity to obtain this eye-catching rookie card of the great Hank Aaron. Graded PSA VG-EX 4.
