Offered is a signed British boxer's glove that includes the signature of the great Flyweight Champion Jimmy Wilde. It is a brown right-handed glove from an unmarked manufacturer. It appears to have 11 signatures. The signatures (in steel-tip fountain pen) of boxers Arthur Danahar and Jimmy Wilde have a JSA Letter of Authenticity included in the box. Wilde was a Welsh professional boxer from 1911-1923. American boxing writer Nat Fleischer called Wilde, "the greatest flyweight boxer ever." The inscription on the glove "In London 6/3/45" was penned, according to the aforementioned PSA Letter of Authenticity, by Jimmy Wilde. Arthur Danahar was a well-known British lightweight and welterweight contender who was in the first British televised championship bout - on February 23, 1939. This same PSA Letter of Authenticity states, "The balance of the signatures are considered inconclusive. The names appear to be Herbie Smith/Tuck Smith/B. Rogan/Freddy (Freddie) Mills/ Sam Reynolds." The glove shows extensive use with scrape marks, creases, and abrasions. A nice piece, especially for British boxing aficionados.
